||ISE 1.4 DB growing large due to EDF_DB_LOG|
Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) configuration backup or restore on an Admin node might fail or experience significant slowness due to exponential growth of hard disk space utilization.
ISE uses a database to store its configuration data. Internal changes made in the database lead to abnormal hard disk space utilization, where configuration backups might continue to increase in size to 5GB or more. The size of configuration backups can be checked via the web user interface in order to determine whether the ISE system might encounter backup or restore failures. In order to check the size of the configuration backups, go to the ISE system web user interface and choose Administration > System > Backup & Restore.
ISE configuration backup or restore on an Admin node might fail or experience significant slowness.
In order to fix this problem, upgrade or patch to these ISE software versions:
- ISE 1.4.0 Patch 8 or later
- ISE 2.0.1 Patch 1 or later
- ISE 2.0 Patch 4 or later
- ISE 2.1 or later
The fix purges the EDF_DB_LOG table and periodically purges it in order to prevent an increase to an abnormal size.
